Burfoot Lotus - Limit 1 per Household
This dahlia originated right here at Burfoot Flowers, and you’ll only find it here for it’s 2025 release!
BF Lotus is literally a dream come true: We created this dahlia through hand-pollination! Lotus is a lively, non-traditional dahlia that is lit from within. She glows in the garden. Soft salmon pink fades to warm yellow and back again. Each petal is delicately outlined in darker pink picottee, with a paint-brushed effect. Long, wispy petaloids flutter between cupped petals.
Lotus is one of the first to bloom in the spring, and is loaded all season long, with each flush of blooms slightly unique! Here in the PNW, warmer temps bring out her textured, lancinated petals, and long wispy petaloids, while shadier cooler conditions amp up the picottee and round out the petals. Lotus has not been tested in high heat growing conditions. Centers are always tightly closed, and she is stunning in design work, and kitchen table vases.
Blooms are 5” and an informal, waterlily-esque form. The plant is vigorous and fast growing up to 5’, and requiring support. Lotus doesn’t require disbudding, though benefits from it, especially if large, perfected blooms are desired. Stems are very sturdy, straight, and plenty long!
This listing is for one dahlia tuber.
