This dahlia originated right here at Burfoot Flowers, and was released in 2024!
There is so much to say about this dahlia, mostly to do with it’s utterly unique coloring. BF Desert Rose blends muted rosy-brown, tan coffee crema, rich raspberry and peach. It effortlessly combines cool and warm tones into one gorgeous, dynamic bloom. Each flush of blooms is unique and grabs attention in the garden and the vase.
After the 2024 release of BF Desert Rose, we got amazing feedback from our friends and customers who grew her in many different climates all across the U.S. with great success and consistent form! Yay! Shady growing conditions will bring out her softer colors, while those lucky enough to grow in full-on sun will be treated to blooms that are richer and more vibrant.
Blooms are 3.5-4”, with consistently closed centers. The plant is 4-5’ tall and doesn’t require disbudding. Stems are long and slender, perfect for bouquets but requiring good support, especially when grown in partial shade.

Dahlia tubers ship within the US, to all states except Hawaii.
Tubers ship late March through April, or when all freezing temperatures are out of the forecast.
Tuber shipping rates are as follows:
- 1-3 tubers = $10.00
- 4-20 tubers = $16.00
- 21+ tubers = Free :)
